Talk by Homer about the evolution of Nuevo Tango

with Performances by Homer and Cristina, and by Bernard Henin's Salsa Moderna troupe
The Grand Ball also featured TANGO PARADISO, ensemble with Douglas Schmidt on bandoneón.
The evening was a joyful fusion of the traditional and contemporary streams of Argentine Tango.

Workshop A (Strictly Advanced) - The Coriolis Effect and/or Combinations that Flow . . .
Friday, Nov. 19 - Cafe Casablanca, 537 Herald St., 7 pm
(Note: This workshop is limited to couples only, and a maximum 15 couples, owing to space considerations.)
Exploring the Coriolis Effect of physics, this workshop will allow a couple to be dynamic in a very small space (with an Open Tango embrace). Also, the process of developing other combinations that flow will be emphasized...
Workshop B (Everyone): Linear Movement in Open Tango
Saturday, Nov. 20 - Edelweiss Club, 108 Niagara St. 11 am
The art of walking, forward, backward, and sideways in Open Tango with the "Follower's Answer" being of primary importance! Both physical and musical relationships will be considered. Comparisons to Close Embrace Tango walking and transitions between both may also be explored.
Workshop C (Everyone): Circular Movement in Open Tango
Saturday, Nov. 20 - Edelweiss Club, 1 pm
Developing the Earth/Moon relationship in the Open Tango Molinete from very slow to very dynamic. Applications from Close embrace to Open will be considered. Alterations may also be introduced...
Workshop D (Everyone): Ochos in 3 Flavors - from Plain to Impulse
Saturday, Nov. 20 - Edelweiss Club, 3 pm
The development of leader/follower Ocho technique from simple to more complex based on need. Their use from Close embrace to Open and overturned will be explored.
Workshop E (Everyone): Introduction to Boleos - Linear to Circular
Sunday, Nov. 21 - St. Luke's Church Hall, intersection of Cedar Hill Road and Cedar Hill X Road, 12:30 pm
Developing & refining both linear and circular impulse leads and follower's responses in the form of Boleos...with musical intention emphasized!
Workshop F (Intermediate): The General Theory of Follower's Sacadas - Forward, Sideways, Backwards
Sunday, Nov. 21 - St. Luke's Church Hall, 2:30 pm
This is a workshop for leaders and followers. One theory will be developed from ideas in classes B & C above that makes it easier to understand and apply Follower's Sacadas in a variety of different positions!
Workshop G (Intermediate): Soltadas and the Anti-Molinete
Sunday, Nov. 21 - St. Luke's Church Hall, 4:30 pm
Letting go of the embrace (think Salsa & Swing turns here) and creating a new one (Sweet-Heart holds, etc), and the Molinete ideology from these new embraces!
